Currently, the mainstream tensile strength grades of prestressed steel strands in the domestic market can be divided into three main categories: 1860MPa, 1960MPa, and 2000MPa. The 1860MPa grade, with its high cost-effectiveness and mature technology, is widely used in conventional projects such as civil buildings and municipal bridges. Higher strength grades of 1960MPa and above are suitable for scenarios with stringent load-bearing requirements, such as long-span bridges, heavy-load structures, and geotechnical anchorage.
To select the appropriate PC steel strand strength grade, project selection should follow the principle of "matching according to needs and economic efficiency," which can be approached from three aspects.
I. Define Project Load Requirements
For structures requiring long-term heavy loads, such as long-span continuous beam bridges and transfer floors of high-rise buildings, prioritize strength grades of 1960MPa and above to ensure structural deformation resistance. For low-load scenarios such as ordinary floor slabs and small to medium-sized bridges, a strength grade of 1860MPa is sufficient. II. Refer to Standards and Specifications
