Biodegradable Cutlery

Pla Drinking Straw

PLA drinking water straws are tools mainly made of polylactic acid for drinking liquids. The following is a related introduction:

Production process:

- Raw material preparation: Select high-purity polylactic acid particles. Add an appropriate amount of additives, such as plasticizers and antioxidants, as needed to improve the performance of the straw.

- Extrusion molding: Raw materials are added to an extruder, heated and pressurized to melt them, and then extruded into a tubular shape through a specific mold, forming the initial shape of a straw.

- Cooling and shaping: The extruded tubular straw passes through a cooling device, such as a cold water bath or air cooling, to rapidly cool and shape, maintaining its shape.

- Cutting and packaging: After the straws are shaped, they are cut to a certain length and then packaged to obtain the finished PLA drinking water straws.

ADVANTAGES

Features:

- Biodegradability: PLA is a biodegradable thermoplastic polyester. In a composting environment, it can decompose into carbon dioxide and water within a few months to a year, effectively reducing the environmental pollution caused by plastic straws.

- Good thermal stability: It can withstand a certain temperature range, remain stable under the temperature conditions of daily drinking water, is not prone to deformation or softening, and can be used to hold hot or cold water.

- High safety: PLA material itself is non-toxic and harmless, meeting food safety standards, and will not release harmful substances, posing no threat to human health.

- Good physical properties: It has certain strength and flexibility, similar to traditional plastic straws. It is not easy to break or bend during use, providing a better user experience.

USE

Applications:

- Beverage shops, such as milk tea shops and coffee shops, are the main application sites for biodegradable straws, providing customers with environmentally friendly drinking options.

- Restaurants: Whether it's a Chinese restaurant or a Western one, biodegradable straws can be used in combination with biodegradable tableware to enhance the restaurant's environmental image.

- Family and outdoor activities: For daily consumption at home and outdoor activities such as picnics and camping, biodegradable straws are convenient to carry and use. After use, they can naturally degrade without leaving any garbage.

SPECIFICATIONS

With the continuous improvement of people's environmental awareness, the demand for biodegradable products is increasing day by day, and the PLA drinking water straw market is showing a good development trend.
