Cross-sectional Shape and Surface Characteristics:
PC spiral ribbed steel wire has spiral ribs on its surface. This rib increases the contact area and friction with concrete, can work better with concrete, and enables the steel wire to transfer stress more effectively, giving full play to its strength advantages. Although ordinary steel bars also have ribbed forms, the shape and distribution of the ribs are different from those of spiral ribbed steel wires, and are slightly inferior in bonding performance.
Stress Mode and Working Principle:
PC spiral rib steel wire will pre-apply compressive stress to concrete through pre-tensioning or post-tensioning before use. When the component is stressed, it first offsets the pre-stress and then bears the external load, which can give full play to its high strength characteristics and effectively delay the appearance and development of component cracks. Ordinary steel bars mainly share external loads with concrete, and gradually play a greater role after the concrete cracks, and their strength utilization efficiency is relatively low.
