Classification by surface shape:
- Plain PC Wire: The surface is smooth, and the general diameter is 4.0mm, 5.0mm, 6.0mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm, 9.0mm and other specifications. Commonly used in prestressed concrete components with low bonding requirements, such as prestressed hollow slabs.
- Indented PC Wire: There are regular pits or notches on the surface to enhance the bonding with concrete, and the diameter is usually between 5.0mm and 10.0mm. Suitable for post-tensioned prestressed concrete structures with high bonding requirements, such as large roof trusses, crane beams, etc.

- Spiral Rib PC Wire: There are spiral ribs on the surface, and the bonding performance with concrete is good. Common diameters are 6.0mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm, etc. Commonly used in prestressed concrete slabs, beams and other structural components of high-rise buildings.

Classification by mechanical properties:
- Cold-drawn steel wire: high strength, but relatively poor plasticity and toughness, with various specifications such as diameter 3.0mm - 10.0mm. It can be used for some small prestressed components that do not require high deformation and require high bearing capacity, such as poles, piles, etc.
- Stress relief wire: including low relaxation wire and ordinary relaxation wire. Low relaxation wire can effectively reduce prestress loss and better maintain the prestress effect in long-term use. Common specifications are 4.0mm - 9.0mm in diameter. It is widely used in large bridges, nuclear power plants and other projects that require high long-term stability of prestress. Ordinary relaxation wire is slightly inferior to low relaxation wire in performance, with similar specifications, and is often used in general prestressed concrete structures, such as prestressed roof trusses of multi-story industrial plants.
