Not long ago, I received an urgent email from a client who was facing a severe production crisis. The membrane components they purchased from another supplier had suffered serious failures, resulting in a sharp drop in water flux and filtration efficiency far below the promised standards. Their entire production system was on the verge of shutdown, and they urgently requested my assistance.
In fact, I had repeatedly told the client before that the competitor’s low-priced products concealed potential quality risks. At that time, the client focused too much on upfront procurement costs and ignored my advice, eventually leading to this production failure.
Given the urgency of the situation, we dispatched our technical team to the client’s site within 24 hours. Upon arrival, we found the situation quite challenging: the production line was completely suspended, a large number of semi-finished products were backlogged, and project deadlines were looming. The engineer who had previously doubted us expressed deep regret, admitting that he had made a wrong decision by only focusing on short-term costs.
We immediately began emergency repairs and installed the trial membrane components we had provided earlier. Within a few hours, the production system resumed stable operation, with all performance indicators meeting and even exceeding the original requirements. Through inspection and analysis, we identified the root cause of frequent failures in the competitor’s products: poor-quality raw materials and a lack of strict quality control during production.

Then I submitted a comprehensive analysis report to the client, comparing the total cost of ownership over a five-year period. Although our products were 22% more expensive initially, they delivered a 30% lower overall long-term cost thanks to superior durability and reduced maintenance expenses. The client finally realized that chasing short-term low prices had instead caused production downtime losses and damage to their brand reputation, which was not worth the savings.
Considering the client’s cash flow pressure, I formulated a phased replacement plan, offered flexible payment terms, and committed to long-term maintenance, remote monitoring and other ongoing support services. The client confirmed the cooperation immediately, and the subsequent replacement work proceeded smoothly. We provided full-process follow-up support, delivered professional training for the client’s operators, and continuously optimized system operating efficiency.
This crisis ultimately helped me gain the client’s complete trust. They actively recommended us to many local enterprises in Indonesia, enabling us to successfully enter the local market and establish long-term and stable partnerships.
